What you get
Three things a small contractor needs from federal data, without spending
an hour a day searching.
1
Solicitations that match, deadline first
New SAM.gov notices in your NAICS and PSC codes, for your set-asides and where you
work. The response deadline is at the top of every alert, so nothing slips.
2
Who is winning work in your codes
Contract awards from USAspending.gov: who won, which agency bought, how much and
when. Find your competitors, teaming partners and the agencies buying what you sell.
3

Each alert quotes the exact passage it came from and links to the official notice or

Questions
Where does the data come from?
Contract opportunities come from SAM.gov, through the public data extract published
by the U.S. General Services Administration. Contract awards come from USAspending.gov,
run by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. We use only public data: we do not log in,
we do not scrape restricted pages, and we keep the original records so every item can
be traced back.
Are you part of the government?
No. Record Flag is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by
or sponsored by SAM.gov, GSA, the Department of the Treasury or any government agency.
Registering in SAM.gov is free, and you never have to pay anyone to bid on a federal
contract.
How do citations work?
Each alert item quotes the passage of the official record it came from and links to
that record on SAM.gov or USAspending.gov. Numbers, dates and IDs must match the source
exactly; if we cannot quote it, we do not report it.
How quickly will I hear about new solicitations?
SAM.gov publishes its public extract once a day, and we check it daily, so a new notice
usually reaches you within a day of posting. Award data appears on USAspending.gov as
agencies report it, usually within days; Department of Defense awards are published
after a 90-day delay.
Can I rely on it instead of checking SAM.gov?
Use it to find opportunities faster, not as your only check. Records can be late,
amended or wrong at the source, and automated extraction can miss things. Before you
bid, read the full solicitation and every amendment on SAM.gov.
What can a watch match?
NAICS codes or prefixes, PSC codes, set-aside types, place of performance, agencies,
keywords and dollar amounts. Combine them to keep alerts focused.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, from your account. Paid plans stay active until the end of the period
you paid for. The free plan has no time limit.
Do you sell my data?
No. We use your email to send the alerts you asked for and messages about your
account. See the Privacy Policy.
